Annakate is an alumna of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtholyoke.edu\/\">Mount Holyoke College<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Spencer\u00a0graduated from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/uga.edu\">UGA<\/a>. Both have important\u00a0past experiences using data science to look at diseases.\u00a0In Summer 2015, Annakate participated in the <a href=\"http:\/\/daphnia.ecology.uga.edu\/reu\">Population Biology of Infectious Diseases REU Site<\/a>, where her project developed methods for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/daphnia.ecology.uga.edu\/reu\/?p=572\">forecasting spread of chytrid fungus<\/a>.
