Welcome to ECOL 8910

Data science for ecologists

This is the course website for the Spring 2016 section of Perspectives in Computational Ecology (ECOL 8910).

Course objectives are:

(1) To obtain an advanced understanding of key concepts in theoretical ecology, and

(2) To develop the programming and analytical skills need to apply these concepts to produce data-driven solutions to practical problems encountered in ecological research.

The Spring 2016 section concerns the development of ecological niche theory with applications to species distribution modeling. For more information, see the syllabus, schedule, and list of readings.
