New Lab Member Mozzamil Mohammed

Mozzamil comes to the lab with an interest in understanding the forces driving spillover risks at ecosystem boundaries. He earned his Ph.D. in Natural Sciences (Mathematical modeling and community ecology) at the University of Oldenburg, Germany in 2022. His past research focused on understanding the important mechanisms driving species coexistence, community composition, biodiversity patterns on spatial environmental gradients, and plant-animal-human interactions. In the Drake lab, he will be exploring factors driving zoonotic spillover risks and the impacts of anthropogenic activities and public health policy on infectious disease dynamics.

Welcome, Mozzamil!
